We have all experienced the droll feeling from having an unenlightened workspace. You know - the plain office chairs, the desk piled with paper, and the general lack of color or interest can all contribute to a dull workspace. That's why this week, we are selecting some inspiration for you to liven up your space, and bring some life (and creativity) into your working environment.
This first one is obviously designed for a girl (sorry guys... or if you like it feel free to draw some inspiration for yourself too!) and can be found on the Mountain and Modern Life blog. What we love about this is the set of office supplies that match - tape dispenser, stapler, gold phone and business card holder (especially that tape dispenser) and how they play off the gold in the lamp and make the space feel special. The pink fresh flowers in the vase also do a great job of making the space feel inspiring, just make sure if you add flowers into your space that you replace them often enough (aha ha...) otherwise your space could go back to dull pretty quickly. We also love the cork board used for pictures and inspiration, and a visual element. Great stuff!
Next, we love the office accessories on this desk from Alaina Kaczmarski. Again we have some flowers - great idea to tie them and put them in a rectangular vase. The metal pencil-holder is pretty cool for colored pencils, and again with the gold the scissors pick up that motif as well as the gold-colored tape. Then we have the awesome magnifying glass which could probably double as a paper-weight (in case you are like me and keep a pile of papers on your desk), and finally the "short list" and the "long list" notepads add an element of whimsy to an otherwise serious space.
Lastly, consider adding some fun to your workspace with these golden dinosaur figurines inspired by the Vault. We like how this photographer perched them on top of the books, but these work if you don't have a library or want to put them somewhere else either on your desk or on a shelf with a few other items. We also have a Running T-Rex Statue you can use for this purpose for $49. The finely detailed statue will be a prehistoric delight on your desk or mantel and seems even a bit more museum-like than our golden dinosaur figurines. Enjoy! And hopefully now you feel inspired to add some fun to your workspace. And, also, don't forget to add plants!
